Under Connecticut law, students attending a driving school class must be at least 16 years old. A student does not need a learner’s permit to attend a class, but must have a permit for driving lessons. Teen classes are for 16 and 17 year olds, adult classes are for students 18 and older. To learn more about the process to get a license, please click on “CLASS OPTIONS” above.
Fox Driving School, LLC offers road tests at our classroom at 67 West Main Street, Clinton. Per DMV rules this service is only for students who are 16-21 years old. On test day, a DMV agent comes to our location and administers road tests in our vehicle. Testing starts at 8AM and is done by 1PM. Tests usually last 15-20 minutes, and involve driving around the Clinton area demonstrating safe driving and various skills. When the student completes the test he/she will be given the results by the agent. The student will then have to go to the Old Saybrook DMV a minimum of two days later to get the license. If a student does not pass the test, he/she must pay a $40 fee to the DMV before signing up for a new road test. Off-site testing is done by the DMV on weekdays, and is considered an excused absence from school. Fox Driving School students average a 95% pass rate testing at our location.
Students who wish to take their test at Fox Driving School, LLC, must complete a minimum of a two hour driving lesson with us. The fee for the test is $100. The two hour driving lesson is $150. For more information please call Mrs. Remetta at (860) 391-2775, or speak with the instructor if attending an upcoming class.
